Level 1 · Introduction

Getting started with AI at work

Understand generative AI, try it on your own tasks, and know what you can safely hand over to it at work. No technical knowledge needed.

Who is it for?

Target audience
Employees, managers, executives, freelancers and sole traders who are new to AI, or who use it without a method.
Prerequisites
No technical knowledge. Each participant brings a laptop or a tablet, and an account with a generative AI tool, created before the training: ideally a paid subscription, otherwise a free account.

What are the objectives?

By the end of the training, each participant will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamentals of generative AI, and why it makes mistakes
  • Get a useful answer by giving the right context
  • Identify the tasks in your job where AI is useful
  • Use the AI already built into your company’s tools
  • Know the risks of using your personal AI account, and what you can enter into it

What is the programme?

Half a day: the four parts. A full day adds an afternoon workshop: each participant picks two or three of their tasks (for example, the minutes of a meeting), writes the prompt to give the AI for each one, then tests and improves it with my help. They leave with these prompts, ready to reuse.

  1. 01

    What AI really is

How it produces an answer, and why it can be confidently wrong.

    See details
    • Generative AI, automation, agents
    • Why it makes up a figure or a source
    • Live demonstrations
  2. 02

    Your first requests

On your own tasks, with my help: giving context, reviewing the answer, correcting course.

    See details
    • Creating your account, if not already done
    • Telling the AI who you are, what you want and in what form
    • Giving it an example or a starting document
    • Reviewing the answer, and asking it to correct it
  3. 03

Where AI helps, and where it does not

Your repetitive tasks, one by one: which ones should you hand over to AI?

    See details
    • Listing your tasks in a typical week
    • Four questions: repetitive task? sensitive data? risk of a serious error? decision about a person?
    • Doing the work for you, or helping you think
  4. 04

AI at work, within the rules

The AI in your software, shadow AI, and what you can enter into it under the GDPR.

    See details
    • Spotting the AI already built into your work software
    • What the company has settled, and what depends on you
    • Shadow AI: what a personal AI account (ChatGPT, for example) used for work exposes
    • Personal data, customers, trade secrets: what the GDPR says
    • Removing identifying details, or asking for an approved tool

To finish

  • A quiz to check what you have learned
  • Your first two or three uses, ready to apply

What next?

Claude and ChatGPT: master the tool and build your first agent →

What do you take away?

  • The course materials, as a PDF
  • A one-page reminder sheet
  • The list of your tasks where AI can help
  • My instruction templates, adaptable to most AI tools
  • 7-hour version: your prompts for two or three of your tasks, written and tested
  • A certificate of completion

How does the training work?

  • Short presentations and live demonstrations
  • Exercises on your tools and your real tasks
  • Case studies from your line of work

How is learning assessed?

  • Pre-training questionnaire on level and expectations
  • Practical exercises with feedback
  • Knowledge quiz and satisfaction questionnaire at the end of the training
  • Follow-up questionnaire three months later, for participants and the company

How do I enrol?

A 20-minute preliminary call, a questionnaire on your needs and the participants’ level, then a quote and a training agreement.

Before the training: a short questionnaire on each person’s level and expectations. I adapt the programme to the answers.

Equipment: one laptop (or a tablet, depending on the course) per participant, supplied by the company or their own. The room: on your premises, with a screen; otherwise, I book an external room and its cost is shown on the quote.

Lead time: Without funding: 1 to 2 weeks after the quote is accepted. With a funding application: at least one month.

Funding: your OPCO (a French training funding body) may cover all or part of the course, but this is not automatic; it depends on its rules. Your company applies before the training.

Route to BusinessI work under the Qualiopi certification of my partner Route to Business.

The training can be adapted for people with disabilities. Let me know your needs before enrolling. Disability officer: Fenella Rauscher (contact@fenellarauscher.com).

Where to start?

The simplest way is to talk it through. The call takes 20 minutes, is free and there is no obligation.
