Law & AI

I’m Fenella Rauscher, a legal professional and Legal Engineer, AI trainer and consultant based in Guadeloupe. My work: helping businesses in every sector use AI properly, in line with the GDPR and the EU AI Act.

What is my background?

I studied law in Paris, up to a Master 2 (the final year of a French master’s degree) at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, before joining the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). In Guadeloupe, I then worked as an in-house legal adviser, and later at the Pointe-à-Pitre Judicial Court. During the same period, I was already running training courses for professionals.

Since 2026, I have been an independent AI consultant and trainer.

How did I come to AI?

Through criminal law. In 2025, out of a love of learning and a wish to broaden my skills, I took a university diploma at the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour. It included a module on artificial intelligence and criminal law. My interest grew little by little, and then it became a real passion.

What appealed to me first was productivity. I like organisation and projects that move quickly; AI helps me keep up that pace every day.

There is also geopolitics, an interest that goes back to my law studies. AI has become a question of power between states: who builds the models, where the data is stored, which rules apply, and to whom. It is a subject I follow closely.

The rules are part of the work from the start: GDPR, the EU AI Act, contracts with suppliers. And the tools are set up by someone who knows legal work from the inside.

A Legal Engineer connects law, working methods and digital tools, AI in particular. I am a legal professional, not a lawyer: for advice on your specific situation, I refer you to a lawyer I trust.

In which languages?

I work in French, English and German, my native language. I also speak Spanish fluently.

What place does AI have in my work?

A daily one. I keep learning, because the tools change every month. And I use AI for my own projects: I built this website from start to finish without being an engineer, from the structure to the code and the legal compliance. With a good method, AI takes you a long way, and you keep control of every decision.

Where to start?

The simplest way is to talk it through. The call takes 20 minutes, is free and there is no obligation.
